Job summary

Thousand Currents seeks a Director of Grassroots Partnerships to build and scale funding and collaborations with grassroots leaders across Africa, Asia, and Latin America. The role reports to the senior team, overseeing five direct reports, and aligning grassroots wisdom with strategic philanthropy.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of senior management in nonprofits, international field experience, and a track record in grantmaking, program leadership, and cross-cultural collaboration.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated alignment with Thousand Currents mission and values.
• Minimum 5 years’ senior level management experience.
• International experience with Africa, Asia, and/or Latin America.
• Proven track record in program and personnel management.
• Strong fundraising, budget development, and resource stewardship.
• Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee grantmaking and partnerships programs.
• Recruit, supervise, and develop staff.
• Plan, coordinate, and integrate program and communications work.
• Guide budget development and monitoring.
• Engage the board and external stakeholders.
• Advance campaigns and storytelling with partners.
