Job summary

Fortune Brands Innovations, Inc. is seeking a Director of Benefits to design and govern health, welfare, retirement, and wellbeing programs across the U.S. and Canada. The role partners with HR, finance, brokers, and vendors to ensure competitive, compliant programs and ongoing optimization.

The successful candidate will lead benefits operations, optimize plan design, and influence the enterprise's global benefits strategy while driving data-driven decision-making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or a related field.
• Ten years of progressive experience in benefits design, administration, and management, including leading and developing benefits or total rewards teams.
• Experience leading benefits strategy, plan design, and governance of US health and welfare programs; experience in at least one additional geographic region is required.
• Experience assessing and improving benefits operations, processes, and service delivery while maintaining a strong employee experience.
• Experience partnering with brokers, consultants, actuaries, and Finance teams to evaluate program performance and cost management opportunities.
• Strong financial and analytical acumen, including interpreting benefits data, funding models, actuarial analyses, and benchmarking.
• Experience with large-scale HRIS and benefits administration platforms.
• Strong communication, organizational, and project management skills; ability to translate complex programs for diverse audiences.
• Demonstrated discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive information.

Responsibilities

• Design, evaluate, and evolve health, welfare, retirement, and wellbeing programs to support employees and business goals.
• Develop global benefits strategy with regional stakeholders and leaders.
• Collaborate with HR Operations, Payroll, and HRIS on system changes and process improvements.
• Oversee annual enrollment strategy and execution with a positive employee experience.
• Manage relationships with brokers, consultants, actuaries, and benefits vendors for performance and cost management.
• Ensure compliance with ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA and related laws.
• Lead, develop, and support a team responsible for retirement, benefits operations, analytics, and health administration.
• Communicate programs and regulatory requirements clearly to diverse audiences.
