Job description

The Global Access Strategy and Pricing (GASP) Breast Cancer Director role directly impacts the ability to achieve business objectives by supporting the development of strategic guidance on access, pricing, optimal reimbursement, launch sequencing, patient value, and evidence generation for the Breast Cancer franchise.

The Breast Cancer franchise is one of the prioritized Oncology franchises and consists of products recently post DP3, with pre-DP3 indications, and pre-launch and in-line products. The franchise includes the following products: KAT6, CDK4, Vepdegestrant, and Ibrance. The objectives for the franchise strategy are to advance the treatment of breast cancer through next-generation backbones of treatment and novel combinations from our internal portfolio and with external partners.

This position will function with a ‘One Global Access and Value’ mindset and work in alignment with the Breast GASP team and other GAV colleagues (USMA, HV&E). The role will focus on early assets and indications, particularly KAT6 and CDK4, working closely with the CDK4 GASP Lead. The person will support the advancement of the integrated value and access strategy (IVAS) in partnership with the cross-functional team, aligned to the brand strategy. The IVAS aims to optimize long-term product value by refining pricing & access strategies, indication launch sequence, and evidence generation plans. The position reports to the GASP Breast Cancer Team Lead within GAV.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Lead generation of payer insights and support translation into cohesive strategies for access, pricing, and evidence generation for key markets to support the Breast Cancer Franchise.
  2. Provide subject matter expertise and support strategic discussions at Senior Leadership forums.
  3. Support global and local preparation of the EU JCA strategy in close partnership with HV&E.
  4. Support lifecycle management and DP3 decision-making by leveraging expertise in access, pricing strategies, and scenario planning.
  5. Deliver recommendations on payer strategy, pricing, reimbursement, case studies, evidence generation, data collection, and value propositions.
  6. Participate in virtual cross-functional teams, representing GAV at various subteams and project groups, leading projects related to asset threats and opportunities.

Generate & synthesize payer insights

  • Maintain understanding of payer regulations, including novel combinations and needs of payers (e.g., HTA agencies, institutions, patients) in key markets.
  • Be knowledgeable about US Oncology access & pricing landscape, IDM markets, China, Japan, EU JCA requirements.
  • Support assessment and communication of access trends to anticipate challenges and opportunities.
  • Gather feedback from HTA agencies, payers, and patient groups for development programs.

Develop payer value proposition and drive market access strategy

  • Support development of access, pricing, and evidence strategies to maximize franchise value.
  • Lead discussions with country-specific health and value teams to incorporate local insights into global plans.
  • Contribute to clinical development plans, market access and pricing strategies, early HTA advice, economic models, and evidence plans via the IVAS.
  • Align clinical trial design, real-world evidence, and commercial strategies with payer insights and corporate initiatives.
  • Engage with senior leadership on pricing and access strategies to support business decisions.
  • Support development of the IVAS, value propositions, and value-based agreements with stakeholders.
  • Develop product and country assessments, facilitate country workshops.
  • Assist in analyses and recommendations to strengthen value propositions and access opportunities.

Advance functional excellence in Global Market Access

  • Build relationships across functions to incorporate payer perspectives and optimize reimbursement strategies globally.
  • Work efficiently in a matrixed environment.
  • Develop expertise in US, IDM, China markets, and launch requirements.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree minimum.
  • 8 years of experience with a Bachelor’s; 7 years with a Master’s/MBA; 5 years with PharmD/PhD, in pharma or consulting, with understanding of global and US payer and market access environments.
  • Experience in developing and executing pricing & market access strategies in US and key markets (Germany, France, UK, Italy, Spain, China, Japan).
  • Excellent communication skills in English.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Advanced degree in healthcare, business, or economics (PhD, PharmD, MPH, MBA, MS).
  • Experience with breast cancer agents globally, knowledge of HTA and payer requirements, including US, IDM, China, and other country-level experiences.
  • Strong understanding of drug development processes.
  • Business experience in strategy and customer interactions.
  • Strong project management skills (contracting, budgeting, vendor management).
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects with competing priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to influence in a matrix environment and manage cross-cultural teams.

The salary range is $169,700 - $282,900, with bonus and long-term incentives. Benefits include 401(k), paid leave, health coverage, and more. Relocation assistance may be available.
