Job summary

The Garden Conservancy seeks a visionary Director of Preservation Services to lead its nationwide garden preservation mission. This role, reporting to the President and CEO, shapes strategy, oversees conservation easements, and guides advocacy and education programs.

You will manage the Preservation Committee, coordinate with other departments, develop annual budgets, and build partnerships that advance preservation nationally, while communicating clearly with staff, boards, and external

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Historic Preservation or related field; 6–8 years experience.
• Experience overseeing preservation programs and board committees.
• Strong communication and writing skills; ability to work with diverse partners.
• Experience with budget development and monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Develop and communicate a strategy for garden preservation with President and CEO.
• Oversee portfolio of conservation easements and annual monitoring.
• Manage Preservation Committee meetings and board communications.
• Collaborate to align preservation programs across departments.
• Support advocacy, education, and partnerships to advance preservation.
