Job summary

Gravitics is seeking a Director of FP&A to own financial planning, forecasting, and analysis, partnering with the CFO and senior leadership. You will translate engineering and program plans into financial insights, guide investment decisions, and shape the five-year plan while growing the FP&A function.

You will lead a high-performing team and collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, and government programs, delivering decision-ready analyses for executives and investors.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of FP&A experience with 3+ years leading teams or functions.
  • Experience in aerospace, space, defense, or advanced hardware manufacturing.
  • Advanced financial modeling skills and strong command of Excel and planning tools.
  • Experience with program or project cost tracking and milestone-based revenue.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial insight to executives, engineers and investors.

Responsibilities

  • Lead planning, forecasting, and long-range strategic planning aligned to milestones.
  • Model unit economics, production costs, margins, capacity and capital needs.
  • Deliver monthly/quarterly performance reporting and KPI dashboards.
  • Support fundraising, investor updates, and financial due diligence.
  • Build scalable planning processes, tools and controls; lead FP&A team.

About theRole

The Director of FP&A owns financial planning,forecastingand analysis acrossGravitics. You will be the CFO's strategic partner and the finance lead for engineering,manufacturingand program leadership. You will translate technical and operational plans into financial decisions: where to invest, what a program really costs, and how much runway each milestone buys us.

You will build and mature the FP&A function as the company grows, including the team, themodelsand the operating cadence.

Responsibilities

Planning and forecasting

  • Lead the annual operating plan, rolling forecasts and long-range strategic plan, aligned to program milestones and company goals
  • Own thefive-year plan
  • Assistwith Board decks and presentations for IR
  • Build andmaintainintegrated financial models covering P&L, cash flow, balance sheet,headcountand capital expenditure
  • Run scenario and sensitivity analysis on schedule, cost, contractawardsand funding to support executive decisions

Program and manufacturing finance

  • Partner with engineering, manufacturing, supplychainand program management to model unit economics, production costs, margins,capacityand capital needs
  • Track program budgets, cost-to-complete and estimate-at-completion, and flag risk early with clear recommendations
  • Support pricing,bidand proposal financials for commercial and U.S. Government opportunities

Executive and investor reporting

  • Deliver monthly and quarterly performance reporting, variance analysis and KPI dashboards to the CFO, executiveteamand Board
  • Support fundraising, investorupdatesand financial due diligence, working with the CFO on the financial narrative and data room
  • Provide decision-ready analysis on build-vs-buy, make-vs-outsource, and major investments

Systems,processand team

  • Build scalable planning processes, tools and controls as the company grows
  • Work closely withAccountingon close, revenue recognition, costaccountingand government contract compliance
  • Hire,leadand develop a high-performing FP&A team
About You
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting,Economicsor a related quantitative field
  • 10+ years of progressive FP&A experience, including 3+ years leading teams or functions
  • Experience in aerospace, space,defenseor advanced hardware manufacturing
  • Advanced financial modeling skills and strong command of Excel and modern planning tools
  • Experience with program or project cost tracking and long-cycle, milestone-based revenue
  • Ability to communicate complex financial insight clearly to executives,engineersand investors
Preferred
  • MBA,CPAor CFA
  • Experience with U.S. Government contracting (FAR/DFARS, cost accounting standards, indirect rate structures, earned value management)
  • Experience in a venture-backed or high-growth company, including fundraising and diligence support
  • Experience with NetSuite or a similar ERP, and platforms such as Adaptive, Anaplan or Pigment
  • Prior experience scaling an FP&A function from early stage to growth stage

Your level and base salary will bedeterminedon a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the considerations of job-related knowledge and skills, education, and direct experience.
