Director for OIT Business Services

Essential Job Duties

The primary purpose of this position is to manage OIT’s accounting and procurement services, ComTech warehouse and asset management. This position will oversee and prepare financial reports for all funding sources, which include state, F&A, ETF, auxiliary, receipts; foundations; grants; and trust accounts. OIT’s total annual budget is over $80 million.

  • Inventory control
Other Responsibilities
  • This position fills in for the AVC and participates in meetings on behalf of the them.
  • Special projects as assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, finance or other discipline related to the area of assignment with 12 credit hours of accounting coursework and three years of professional accounting experience, of which at least one is supervisory; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Other Required Qualifications

An ideal candidate will have thorough knowledge of accounting and auditing principles and practices including familiarity with basic accounting principles involving general ledger, journal entries, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.

  • Ability to interpret and analyze accounting data and apply to institutional needs.
  • Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in interpreting administrative and managerial polices.
  • High degree of accuracy and independence.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Strong initiative and sense of responsibility, strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to sustain high energy in fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient with personal computers including Word, Excel, e-mail, and Internet resources.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Business process engineering, operations, and/or logistical experience.
  • Budget management involving varied funding restrictions depending on source of revenue.
  • Warehouse experience.
  • PeopleSoft and IT/Telecom billing and inventory database platform experience.
