Job description

Osanni Bio is a development-stage therapeutics platform, headquartered in San Francisco, California. We are creative and agile innovators, relentlessly curious about finding new ways to target the biology behind diseases with the greatest unmet need and determined to do something about it.

At the center of Osanni is its innovation engine, which is optimized for discovering new scientific insights, designing novel drug concepts, and efficiently advancing programs to a meaningful proof-of-concept. Once a program is sufficiently de-risked, it graduates into its ecosystem of affiliate companies, which are equipped with the dedicated focus, specialized talent and support necessary to scale. Osanni's architecture marries the scientific depth and operational power of a centralized platform with the speed, agility and accountability of independent companies. The result: an opportunity to create and deliver more transformative medicines.

We hold patients and the physicians who care for them as our North Star. It guides our purpose, sharpens our decision-making, and defines our impact. Osanni is currently advancing programs in ophthalmology, cardiology and beyond. We are building a highly skilled team, passionate about having an impact on human health. Be part of creating an organization where people enjoy their work and their colleagues, are valued for their individuality, and can't imagine working anywhere else.

Our Values:

Osanni is guided by three core values: Integrity + Impact, because we give a hoot; Agility + Accountability, so we swoop and soar; and Collaboration + Connection, to be one Osanni Flock. Together, they shape how our team shows up for patients, for each other, and for the mission.

About the Role:

The Director, Financial Planning & Analysis will lead the Company’s financial planning, forecasting, performance management, and executive reporting processes. This role will serve as a strategic finance partner to senior leadership, translating business strategy into actionable financial plans, resource-allocation decisions, and measurable operating outcomes.

The successful candidate will bring strong financial expertise, business acumen, operational rigor, and will be comfortable presenting to the executive team and Board of Directors. They will be comfortable operating in a dynamic, growth-stage environment and will influence cross-functional leaders through objective analysis, sound judgment, and practical recommendations.

This leader will own the annual operating plan, rolling forecasts, long-range financial plan, management reporting, and strategic financial modeling. The role will also provide forward-looking insight into business performance and help ensure that operating and financial decisions are supported by timely, accurate, and decision-ready analysis.

What You Will Do:
  • Lead the three-year long-range plan, annual operating plan, rolling forecasts, and scenario analyses, including end-to-end consolidation across functions and affiliate companies, as applicable.
  • Turn business strategies, operating assumptions, and development plans into rigorous financial models. Use them to evaluate strategic initiatives, investments, profitability, cash flow, and resource needs.
  • Provide clear recommendations on resource allocation, investment priorities, trade-offs, and financial risks.
  • Deliver timely, accurate, decision-ready management reporting, presentations, and financial narratives for functional leaders, executive management, and the Board of Directors.
  • Analyze actual results, forecasts, and KPIs to identify performance drivers, risks, opportunities, and required actions.
  • Partner with Accounting and functional leaders during monthly and quarterly close to review accruals, validate results, investigate variances, and communicate performance.
  • Build strong partnerships with senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders by providing objective guidance, constructive challenge, and practical solutions. Drive alignment and accountability around financial priorities without direct authority.
  • Strengthen finance processes, systems, data quality, reporting capabilities, and internal controls.
  • Lead practical adoption of AI-enabled tools, automation, self-service analytics, and dashboards to improve forecast quality, reporting efficiency, and decision support while maintaining appropriate governance and controls.
  • Manage high-priority analyses, ad hoc projects, and recurring deliverables in a fast-paced, changing environment, ensuring accuracy and timeliness, and perform other related duties as required.
What You Bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field; MBA, CPA, CMA, or other advanced credential strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive finance experience, including leadership roles in FP&A, corporate, strategic, or business finance.
  • Strong command of GAAP, financial reporting, and financial statements. You should also understand the drivers behind financial and operational performance, including capital allocation, cash flow, and ROI analysis.
  • Proven track record of partnering with senior executives and influencing strategic and operational decisions across functions and levels.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to turn complex information into concise, actionable recommendations for executive audiences.
  • Advanced Excel, financial modeling, and PowerPoint skills, plus extensive experience with planning, ERP, business intelligence, and reporting systems.
  • Experience designing, implementing, and driving adoption of scalable planning, reporting, modeling, and analytics processes and tools.
  • Working knowledge of AI in enterprise finance, including predictive and driver-based forecasting, generative AI for reporting and commentary, and automation of recurring analysis. This includes an understanding of the related data quality, governance, privacy, and control requirements.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment with competing priorities and high standards for accuracy and execution.
  • Based in, or willing to relocate to, the San Francisco Bay Area and able to work in a hybrid environment.
