Job summary

The University of Indianapolis seeks a Director of Financial Aid to lead the administration of federal, state, and institutional aid totaling over $150 million. You will oversee daily operations, ensure compliance, and partner with campus leaders to balance enrollment goals and net income.

Qualifications

  • Five (5) years of experience as a Director or Associate Director of Financial Aid.
  • Experience with Ellucian Colleague, Cognos, Slate, Blackboard or similar programs used in financial aid offices within higher education preferred.
  • Experience assisting student-athletes with financial aid needs.
  • Complete knowledge of all aspects of the administration of federal, state and university financial aid programs with a working knowledge of federal and state law and regulation.
  • Commitment to excellent customer service and student success.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain and implement policy and documentation.
  • Strong communication, project management, data analysis and supervisory skills as well as experience with strategic enrollment management fundamentals.
  • Experience/expertise in data analytics or skilled use of business intelligence tools.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews and implements federal, state, and institutional policies and procedures.
  • Stays up to date on changing governmental regulations and updates policy and procedures in accordance with new regulations.
  • Ensure proper completion and submission of all major reporting functions for Financial Aid compliance.
  • Coordinate annual reports and mandated state grant reporting.
  • Partner with Budget to manage the unfunded aid budget.
  • Design and implement an organizational structure for optimal student service and efficiency.
  • Develop and implement compliance training for Financial Aid Office staff.
  • Oversee Financial Aid Technology to ensure systems stay operational.
  • Serve as primary contact for external partners (auditors, DoE, Indiana Commission on Higher Education).
  • Work with community partners to manage scholarships and aid offers.
