How can you make an impact?

The Finance Director, DPG at McGraw Hill is a hands-on role directing and coordinating the Company’s financial and strategic technology product investments across all business units. Reporting to the VP, Finance this role will collaborate with senior leadership, including the Chief Digital Information Officer, SVP of Digital Platforms and Chief Product Officers. A successful candidate for this role has strong financial and analytical skills, a keen eye for process improvement, and a curious problem solver. They have exceptional partnership and communication skills, can manage multiple priorities and deal with ambiguity effectively.

This is a remote position in Illinois, open to applicants authorized to work for any employer within the United States. Occasional travel to the office may be required for training, meetings, and other events, so preference will be given to those who reside in Chicago.

What you will be doing

  • Lead cross organization portfolio management of platform investment.
  • Manage case analysis to facilitate executive leadership in prioritizing highest impact projects.
  • Drive scalable and flexible staffing models to allow for agile environment.
  • Successfully lead, empower, and cultivate a team of cross-functional project members.
  • Use financial and business metrics to evaluate platform performance and investment return.
  • Own and manage the Apptio TBM software.
  • Lead financial planning, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Drive operational improvement and track efficiency initiatives.
  • Champion Total Cost of Ownership and Spend Transparency.

We’re looking for someone with

  • 8-12 years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience managing Capitalization process for technology spend.
  • SaaS experience or Technology Company experience.
  • Experience with investment evaluation; strong analytical skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting and / or finance.
  • Ability to apply strong business judgment and communicate effectively with executive management, business partners, and technical communities.
  • Ability to drive alignment with key partners to guide strategy and business direction.
  • Works well in team environment with changing requirements and competing priorities
  • Experience managing shared services financials.

The pay range for this position is between $160,000-$180,000 annually; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.An annual bonus plan may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical and / or other benefits, depending on the position offered.
