Join to apply for the Director, Finance, Assistant Controller role at Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors.

The Director, FP&A is responsible for managing financial planning activities, including budgeting, financial analysis, and long-term financial planning for the organization. This role oversees the budgeting process for RPA and provides timely, insightful analysis to key stakeholders.

Core Accountabilities
  1. Budget and Forecasting: Partner with the CFO to manage the budgeting process, provide reporting on revenue and expenses, and support scenario planning for multi-year budgets.
  2. Information and Business Advice: Lead FP&A best practices, provide financial education, and model client-level profit and loss.
  3. Financial Reporting: Ensure accurate, timely financial reports in accordance with GAAP, including monthly close, reconciliation, and analysis.
  4. Insights and Analytics: Develop reporting strategies, interpret data patterns, and collaborate on KPI development for performance monitoring.
  5. Relationship Management: Build effective relationships with internal clients and senior leadership, and train staff on analytics.
  6. Complexity and Problem Solving: Analyze data trends, ensure compliance, and interpret complex information to guide decision-making.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Manage personnel decisions, resource allocation, and oversee the FP&A team, reporting to the CFO and People & Culture.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 10 years in finance, with knowledge of budgeting, GAAP, nonprofit finance, and related areas.
  • Experience in nonprofit or philanthropic sectors preferred.
  • Strong communication skills to explain finance concepts to non-experts.
Additional Requirements
  • Willingness to travel occasionally.

Compensation & Benefits
