Job summary

Current is seeking a hands-on Finance Director to serve as the embedded FP&A partner to firm and regional leadership. This role owns planning, reporting, forecasting, and cost management, interfacing with NY/NJ offices and key executives. Strong business judgment and communication are essential.

The ideal candidate brings 10+ years in FP&A, advanced modeling, and experience with ERP/BI tools, with based-in NY Metro preference and a track record of partnering with leadership to drive performance.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years FP&A or corporate finance experience with hands-on business partnering.
  • Experience in professional services or multi-entity businesses.
  • Strong GAAP knowledge and financial modeling.
  • Proficient with ERP/BI tools listed.
  • Based in the NY Metro area.

Responsibilities

  • Own monthly and quarterly financial reporting with clear leadership recommendations.
  • Lead annual budget, long-range planning, and rolling forecasts.
  • Define and monitor KPIs across revenue, margin, utilization, and profitability.
  • Partner with firm and regional leaders on growth, pricing, and strategic decisions.
  • Investigate performance issues and identify actionable improvement opportunities.

About the Role

Adeptus Partners is seeking a hands‑on Finance Director to serve as the embedded financial partner to firm and regional leadership. Reporting to the Regional Vice President at Current, this role will own financial planning, reporting, forecasting, business analytics, and cost management while helping leaders understand the operational drivers behind performance. The ideal candidate combines deep FP&A expertise with strong business judgment, executive presence, and a willingness to work directly in the details. This role requires regular engagement with Adeptus offices across New York and New Jersey, and candidates must be based in the NY Metro area.

Responsibilities
  • Own monthly and quarterly financial reporting, translating performance, variances, and underlying drivers into clear recommendations for leadership.

  • Lead the annual budget, long‑range planning, and rolling forecasting processes.

  • Define and monitor KPIs across revenue, margin, utilization, realization, client profitability, and other key operating metrics.

  • Partner closely with firm and regional leaders on growth initiatives, operational performance, resource allocation, pricing, and other strategic decisions.

  • Investigate performance issues to identify root causes, leading indicators, and actionable opportunities for improvement.

  • Develop scenario models and analyses supporting investments, acquisitions, market expansion, and other strategic alternatives.

  • Support financial diligence, integration modeling, synergy tracking, and other acquisition‑related activity.

  • Drive follow‑through on financial recommendations and ensure resulting actions are carried through to completion.

  • Improve FP&A infrastructure, reporting processes, dashboards, automation, and self‑service analytics in partnership with Corporate Finance teams.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.

  • 10+ years of progressive FP&A, corporate finance, or related experience, including significant hands‑on business partnering.

  • Experience within professional services, a PE‑backed platform, or another multi‑entity or multi‑location business.

  • Advanced financial modeling skills and strong understanding of GAAP, financial statements, and services‑business economics.

  • Experience with ERP, planning, and BI tools such as NetSuite, Adaptive, SAP, Anaplan, Power BI, Tableau, Databricks, or similar platforms.

  • Strong executive communication skills with the ability to turn complex financial and operational information into a clear point of view.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders, solve ambiguous problems, and operate effectively in a fast‑paced environment.

  • Based in the New York Metro area.

Preferred Qualifications
  • MBA and/or CPA.

  • Experience supporting accounting, consulting, or other professional services businesses.

  • Experience within a high‑growth or acquisition‑driven organization.
