Job description

As a Director, Field Medical Affairs, you will play a pivotal role as an auditory neuropathy field-based medical expert. We will be a bridge between hearing loss gene therapy centers of excellence, referral medical institutions, healthcare providers and researchers. Our focus will emphasize genetics medicine, gene therapy, and auditory neuropathy. You will play an impactful key partner to the headquarters medical director.
We expect to deliver strategic and operational support by establishing, developing, and maintaining scientific exchange. This may include surgeons, specialists, audiologists, payers, and other related health care professionals. Additionally, we will support pre-launch and post-launch activities, as well as site support for ongoing clinical study sites.
Territory: US with focus and travel to key centers of excellence and associated referral networks

A typical day may include the following:
• Apply your understanding of the auditory space including anatomy, pathophysiology, therapeutic area landscape and different surgical delivery techniques.
• Provides support and understands surgical technique, communicate scientific information and gather meaningful insights.
• Builds, develops and improves relationships with scientific and medical customers and organizations ensuring understanding of evolving healthcare trends.
• Understanding of value/cost of care, hospitalizations, complex matrix of providing care, connects referral networks, drug pricing pressures, reimbursement/payer education, and market access support.
• Brings impactful information & insights improving the value and proper use of our products.
• Builds and cultivates working relationships across field partners to ensure a coordinated approach when working with customers.
• Sustains expertise in compound data, disease state management, emerging therapies, and the competitive landscape.
• Responds to health care provider inquiries with integrity, compliance, and adherence to legal, regulatory, guidelines, policies and procedures.
• Support medical conferences through session coverage, KOL engagement planning and other activities.
• Function as a liaison between research and development teams and end-users to guide product innovation.

To be considered for this position, you must have a doctorate level education in a Clinical/Science Degree (e.g., MD, PharmD, PhD). Experience in the hearing loss field is required as is 12+ years of progressive industry/relevant professional experience including Field Medical Affairs. Ability to communicate and disseminate scientific and clinical data.
