Medical College of Wisconsin is seeking a Facilities Engineering & Maintenance leader to guide a team in managing campus operations, maintaining building systems, and driving capital projects. The role emphasizes safety, efficiency, and high-quality campus appearance through proactive management of preventive maintenance and life-safety compliance.
The position requires extensive leadership experience in a hospital or research environment, with strong communication and strategic planning skills
Effectively manage the physical plant and facility operations resources of the Medical College of Wisconsin by implementing effective policies and procedures, preventive maintenance, and quality control programs to ensure a high level of building appearance, performance, safety and efficiency.
Monday-Friday, 6:30 AM-3:30 PM. Occasional evening/weekend availability by phone or email is required; onsite presence outside these hours is rare but may occasionally be necessary.
Appropriate experience may be substituted for education on an equivalent basis.
Minimum Required Education: Bachelor's Degree or a combination of associate degree and extensive trades or maintenance supervision experience.
Minimum Required Experience: Fifteen years or more technical background, in addition to leadership experience.
Preferred Experience: Experience in a Hospital, Research facility, or Higher Education environment
Required Certification/Licensure(s): PE, LEED, CFM, FMP, Journeyman, or other Facility Maintenance Credentials/Certification preferred.
May require handling or lifting materials and equipment up to 40 lbs.
Majority of work will be in an office environment. Some work will be in equipment room type setting. Loud machinery, dust, and unpleasent orders.
Ability to detect and translate speech or other communication required. May occasionally require the ability to distinguish colors and perceive relative distances between objects.
