The Director - Facilities Management will lead all facilities-related operations, with a focus on strategic planning, operational excellence, compliance, and de novo projects. This role is essential to maintaining a safe, functional, and sustainable environment and to enabling organizational success through exceptional facilities management. The Director will oversee facilities maintenance, project management, vendor relations, and more, ensuring facilities meet the highest standards of performance and efficiency.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Strategic Leadershi p
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive facilities management strategy aligned with organizational goals to support growth and operational needs.
  • Drive facilities initiatives that align with corporate sustainability goals, including energy efficiency and waste reduction.
Operational Leadership
  • Lead day-to-day facilities operations, focusing on preventive maintenance, facility upgrades, and managing essential services (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and security).
  • Oversee quality assurance processes to ensure all facilities operate safely, efficiently, and within regulatory standards.
  • Develop and coordinate disaster response and business continuity plans to ensure safety and continue operations. Collaborate with departments to test and sustain critical operations across all locations.
  • Optimize resource use and implement continuous improvement practices to enhance facility performance and reduce operating costs.
  • Develop and manage the facilities department’s annual budget, ensuring that resources align with financial and operational goals.
  • Oversee and monitor all expenditures related to facilities management, including maintenance, repairs, upgrades, and utilities, identifying cost‑saving opportunities wherever possible.
  • Conduct regular cost analyses, tracking operational expenses, capital projects, and resource utilization to maintain budget alignment and financial accountability.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accuracy in financial planning, forecasting, and expenditure tracking.
Collaboration and Reporting
  • Coordinate with internal departments to align facilities needs with organizational priorities and support employee satisfaction.
  • Maintain regular reporting to leadership on key performance indicators (KPIs), financial performance, and facility metrics, providing data‑driven insights and recommendations.
  • Build strong relationships with vendors, contractors, and service providers to ensure high service levels and contract adherence.
Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, company policies, and safety standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Stay current on industry standards and legal requirements, proactively adjusting practices to maintain compliance.
Team Development
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing facilities team, providing opportunities for skill‑building, training, and career growth.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, excellence, and collaboration within the facilities department.
  • Encourage professional development by facilitating access to certifications, training, and industry best practices for team members.
Performance Metrics
  • Establish, monitor, and analyze key metrics related to facility operations, including cost management, service delivery, and resource utilization.
  • Develop and manage departmental budgets, providing regular financial performance updates and identifying opportunities for cost savings.
  • Use data‑driven insights to inform facilities planning, focusing on enhancing efficiency, reducing environmental impact, and improving overall operational performance.

  • Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Certifications (e.g., Certified Facility Manager (CFM), Facility Management Professional (FMP) preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in managing large‑scale facilities and leading cross‑functional teams in a high‑performance environment.
  • Deep knowledge of building systems, maintenance, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong financial acumen, with experience in budget management and cost analysis.
  • Proficiency in facilities management software and reporting tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to lead, influence, and collaborate across departments.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly supervise Practice Managers within the region.
