Job summary

Micron Technology, Inc. in Boise, Idaho seeks a Director of Facilities Construction to lead progressive-build initiatives for high-tech fabs.

You will manage a team across safety, compliance, and strategic project delivery, shaping long-term campus infrastructure and reliability. The role requires extensive construction engineering experience, leadership, and a track record with large projects in the semiconductor sector.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor of Science or equivalent experience in Construction Management or relevant field.
• 15 years of overall construction engineering experience.
• 5+ years' experience managing teams and working on large scale projects.
• PMP certification (preferred).
• 7 years of experience in leadership role (preferred).
• Semiconductor industry experience (preferred).
• Experience or interest in adoption of agentic AI into work processes (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Finishes the required safety training and adheres to safety policies, stopping work if unsafe conditions are identified.
• Reviews job hazard analysis and follows safety and environmental procedures, including PPE and chemical safety.
• Actively participates in the EHS program, reports concerns immediately, and performs audits.
• Ensures compliance with external regulations and internal policies, coordinating with safety and legal teams.
• Manages construction projects, oversees budgets, and develops long-term improvement strategies.
• Maintains communication with the organization and partners with various teams on critical projects.
• Conducts performance management and professional development, fostering a positive and innovative culture.
• Establishes and communicates long-term strategic goals, ensuring succession planning for critical positions.

The US Construction Engineering department is responsible for the design and construction efforts for high-tech, large-scale projects for Micron in the US. Current high-profile projects include the design and construction of two high-volume manufacturing fabs in Boise, ID1 and ID2, and a third fab in Clay, New York.

As the Director, Facilities Construction- Progressive Build at Micron, you will be responsible for managing a team that supports all areas of building new construction.
