Job summary

Republic Services in Phoenix seeks a Director, External Reporting to lead the company’s external financial reporting, SEC filings, and internal controls oversight. You will supervise monthly close, budgeting, and forecasting, while collaborating with senior leaders across Finance and Tax.

The role blends accounting excellence with strategic oversight of environmental and landfill accounting matters. The ideal candidate is a CPA with 10+ years in public accounting or SEC reporting, strong Excel

Qualifications

• CPA with minimum 4 years of Big 4 or Tier II National firm experience.
• Experience with Lawson and Essbase or similar GL systems and reporting tools.
• Previous landfill or environmental accounting experience.
• Strong Excel skills, including macros, and solid accounting systems knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Oversee monthly close for corporate, landfill and environmental matters.
• Review SEC filings and related financial statements and footnotes.
• Present complex accounting issues to senior management and Audit Committee.
• Lead or support mergers, acquisitions, and dispositions process and due diligence.
• Manage external audit process and interact with corporate departments on projects.
• Oversee budget and forecast processes and staff development.
