Job summary

University of Wisconsin Colleges seeks a Director and UW Extension Specialist to lead the Extension Lakes program within the College of Natural Resources at UW-Stevens Point. You will oversee finances, personnel, facilities and strategic actions to advance water resources education statewide.

You will build partnerships, secure funding, and coordinate with WDNR, UWEXT and UW-Stevens Point to deliver programs that engage lakeshore communities and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a relevant field is required.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional leadership/administration experience in natural resources or related organizations.
• Demonstrated supervisory and leadership skills.
• Budget development and management experience.
• Proven track record building partnerships with stakeholders.
• Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
• Experience developing short- and long-term strategic plans for outreach and education programs.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise Extension Lakes (EL) programming, budget, and personnel resources.
• Lead strategic planning and actions to optimize resource use and program impact.
• Secure extramural funding to support EL mission and involve students and staff.
• Serve as EL liaison to internal/external stakeholder groups to build support.
• Oversee annual Wisconsin Lakes and Rivers Convention with stakeholders.
• Prepare annual reports and contribute to UWEXT and CNR processes.
• Represent UWSP/EL at regional and national levels.
