Job summary

Blue Cross NC is seeking a Director of Enterprise Risk Management to design, execute, and improve the organization’s risk framework. You will identify, assess, manage, and communicate risks with executives and governance bodies to embed risk thinking in strategy and operations.

You will lead the ORSA process, prepare risk reports for the Board, monitor risk appetite and KPIs, and promote a strong risk culture across the enterprise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in risk management, finance or business administration.
• 10 years experience in risk management and consulting or public accounting.
• 5 years leadership experience.
• CRM, CRMA, ARM or CPA.
• In lieu of degree, 12+ years of experience in related field.

Responsibilities

• Direct all aspects of enterprise risk management and support throughout the organization to achieve business objectives and strategies.
• Promotes organization-wide understanding of enterprise risks and risk management strategies.
• Lead the ORSA process, including risk assessment, stress testing, and annual ORSA report.
• Prepare risk reports, dashboards, and presentations for leadership, risk committees and the Board.
• Develop practical, timely business solutions in collaboration with management.
• Monitor risk appetite metrics, KRIs, and emerging risks; report to Board as needed.
• Coordinate periodic reviews of risk appetite statements, policies and governing practices.
• Monitor regulatory trends to identify potential impacts to the organization.
• Promote a strong risk culture through education, communication, and consultation.
• Lead corporate insurance and captive management programs to manage insurance risks.
