Job summary

Secretariat seeks an experienced Electrical Engineering expert with a strong background in business development and client relations to lead and grow our consulting practice. You will engage in expert witness and strategic consulting, mentoring staff and overseeing projects while traveling globally as needed to meet client demands.

Ideal candidates hold a PhD or MS in Electrical Engineering, Physics or CS & Eng, with excellent communication skills and a track record of winning new business.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience testifying in deposition, trial, arbitration or hearings.

About Our Global Engineering Sciences Team

As part of our expanding Global Engineering and Scientific consulting team, you will work at the forefront of today’s most complex engineering challenges. You will be engaged in analyzing failures of a myriad of products from a variety of industries from automotive, construction, consumer products, consumer electronics and medical devices to name a few. Secretariat leverages our diverse technical expertise, and industry knowledge of a variety of structures and products to provide clients with world-class value to identify solutions that drive performance and safety.

This position is available in either our Chicago or New York office.

Responsibilities

• Exceptional analytical skills, problem solving, communication skills, and creativity are the foundation for successful professionals at Secretariat.
• Attracting and winning new business opportunities for Secretariat in both expert witness and or strategic consulting
• Contributing to the growth of Secretariat’s Electrical Engineering practice by recruiting talented staff
• Mentoring and driving growth of Electrical Engineering staff
• Providing project management and project budget oversight

Qualifications

• Established track record for business development and existing client-base
• Requisite professional degrees and ~6-8 years of work experience:
• PhD or MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics or Computer Science & Engineering
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Have previously testified in deposition, trial, arbitration or hearings
• Excellent expert report writing skills to complement analytics
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent listening, verbal, written, technical, and presentation skills
• The desire to lead, auxiliary tasks associated with a growing practice within a rapidly growing firm
• The ability to travel globally as needed.
• Experience with Power electronics, Industrial process control, consumer products, circuit analysis, control system is a plus
• The ability to work odd hours to adjust to client needs globally
