Job summary

AssetMark is a leading wealth-management platform seeking a Director, Engineering Manager – Front-End to lead the enrollment and servicing front-end team. This role blends hands-on coding with coaching a multi-squad group, delivering high-impact interfaces for advisors and operations professionals.

You will mentor engineers, drive delivery quality, and shape design systems while collaborating with Product and Design to align product strategy with technical execution.

Qualifications

  • 10–15+ years of software engineering experience, primarily front-end.
  • Strong expertise in React, TypeScript, mobile frameworks, and modern front-end stack.
  • Deep knowledge of UI patterns, state management, and performance optimization.
  • Experience leading multi-team / multi-squad engineering organizations.
  • Track record of developing junior and mid-level engineers into high performers.
  • Hands-on coding mindset; comfortable contributing 40%+ to production code.
  • Product-first mindset: ask why before what, focus on execution and business impact.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience in fintech or regulated industries is a plus.

  • Coach and grow a multi-squad front-end engineering team, mentoring junior and mid-level engineers.
  • Hire and retain engineers who care deeply about UX, performance, and code quality.
  • Build and sustain the Global Capability Center in Hyderabad, India.
  • Champion front-end craft, patterns (component-driven design, declarative approaches, state-management discipline), and shared platforms.
  • Shape AI-assisted development across the SDLC.
  • Drive consistency in design systems, UI frameworks, and shared components.
  • Ensure high standards for performance, accessibility, and usability.
  • Collaborate with platform teams on BFF integration while maintaining clear front-end ownership.
  • Lead the design and execution of intuitive, performant, and elegant applications for advisors and investors.
  • Partner deeply with Product and Design to embed product strategy and maintain alignment.
  • Translate ambiguous product goals into clear technical direction and execution plans.

Position

Director, Engineering Manager – Front‑End

Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary: $206,000–$258,000 (location dependent) with variable incentive compensation and competitive benefits.
