Job summary

AssetMark, a leading wealth management platform, seeks Associate Engineer in Charlotte, NC. You will write clean code, learn our stack through mentorship, and contribute to high-quality software used by thousands of advisors.

This role is hybrid with proximity to our Charlotte office. 0–3 years experience and a CS degree preferred; knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript/Java/C#/Python and cloud basics are helpful.

Qualifications

• 0-3 years of software engineering experience or recent graduate with relevant project work or internships.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Interest in financial technology or wealth management domains a plus.

Responsibilities

• Software Development: Write clean, maintainable code following team standards and best practices, with opportunities to progressively take ownership of feature components.
• Technical Learning: Rapidly develop proficiency in our technology stack through structured mentorship programs and hands‑on project work.
• Testing & Quality: Implement comprehensive testing strategies including unit testing, integration testing, and debugging to ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Collaboration: Work effectively with cross‑functional teams to understand requirements, implement solutions, and participate in knowledge‑sharing sessions.
• Problem Solving: Apply analytical thinking to resolve technical challenges and propose innovative solutions with appropriate guidance.
• Documentation: Create and maintain clear, comprehensive documentation for code and technical processes that supports team knowledge sharing.
• Continuous Improvement: Actively participate in code reviews, team meetings, and retrospectives to develop professional and technical skills with a focus on advancing to more complex assignments.
• Agile Practices: Contribute effectively within agile development methodologies including sprints, standups, and iterative development.

The Opportunity

We are seeking talented Associate Engineers to join our growing software engineering team in Charlotte. • Solid foundation in programming languages like JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, C#, or Python with demonstrated ability to learn new technologies quickly.
• Working knowledge of web technologies (HTML, CSS, REST APIs) and modern development frameworks.
• Experience with version control systems (Git) and collaborative development workflows.
• Strong problem‑solving skills with ability to break down complex problems methodically.
• Excellent communication skills with ability to articulate technical concepts clearly.
• Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional growth.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) a plus.
• Interest in financial technology or wealth management domains a plus.

Compensation

The Base Salary range for this position is between $90,000-$107,000. This information reflects a base salary range that AssetMark reasonably expects to pay for the position based on a number of factors which may include job‑related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and actual work location.

This position will also be eligible for additional variable incentive compensation and competitive benefits.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US to be considered.
