Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 15 years of software engineering experience with 5 years in technical management.
  • Master's degree or PhD in CS or Engineering.
  • Experience in distributed computing infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Provide execution leadership on software engineering projects (e.g., resourcing, prioritization, partner team interlock, scoping)
  • Set technical, organizational, and business strategy in partnership with technical leads and managers, outlining the team charter, 2-3 year deliverables and how this function can deliver Google Global Fleet and Google Global Infrastructure objectives.
  • Contribute to GGF shared mission as part of the leadership team and work collectively to deliver GGF’s objectives.
  • Lead and scale an organization of engineers and managers, establishing a team culture focused on engineering/product/operational excellence.
  • Evolve and scale key current services and systems to meet current needs and making space for future evolution of our key architecture. Participate in customer engagement and collaborate with strategic partners.

You will oversee the team building the capacity platform for GCE VM families and evolving next-generation VM families' capacity experiences to maximize both elasticity and efficiency. You will deliver fleet management and admission control to achieve promised obtainability SLOs with optimized efficiency, and provide compute capacity and utilization data to empower GCE products and services.
