Job summary

Google is seeking an experienced leader for its Global Fleet and infrastructure initiatives. This role will shape execution, strategy, and delivery across multiple engineering teams, ensuring scalable capacity and efficient operations.

You will collaborate with senior tech leads to define a 2-3 year roadmap, drive organization-wide technical standards, and partner with customers and stakeholders to meet ambitious performance targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 15 years of software engineering experience with 5 years in technical management.
• Master's degree or PhD in CS or Engineering.
• Experience in distributed computing infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Provide execution leadership on software engineering projects (e.g., resourcing, prioritization, partner team interlock, scoping)
• Set technical, organizational, and business strategy in partnership with technical leads and managers, outlining the team charter, 2-3 year deliverables and how this function can deliver Google Global Fleet and Google Global Infrastructure objectives.
• Contribute to GGF shared mission as part of the leadership team and work collectively to deliver GGF’s objectives.
• Lead and scale an organization of engineers and managers, establishing a team culture focused on engineering/product/operational excellence.
• Evolve and scale key current services and systems to meet current needs and making space for future evolution of our key architecture. Participate in customer engagement and collaborate with strategic partners.
