Role Overview:

Pinterest is one of the fastest-growing online advertising platforms, with AI/ML being a key driver of our ads business. The success of our business depends on enabling continuous ML innovations for our ads products efficiently. We are seeking a Director of Engineering - Ads ML Infrastructure to lead this critical organization. In this role, you will lead and grow a fast-paced engineering team, set technical strategies, and guide the development of scalable ML infrastructure solutions that impact our business's revenue and growth.

What you'll do:

1. Collaborate with product and engineering teams to design infrastructure solutions that foster AI/ML innovations, driving growth in Pinterest's ads business.
2. Expand and develop the engineering organization, establishing technical vision, overseeing daily operations, and fostering a positive team culture.
3. Modernize the ML ecosystem across Pinterest Ads to enhance reliability, scalability, efficiency, and developer velocity.

What we're looking for:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of experience managing engineering teams, including managers.
• Over 10 years of experience in large-scale distributed systems, data stores, and system programming.
• Experience building and managing critical user-facing ML backend systems, addressing scaling, reliability, and performance in high-volume, low-latency environments.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills across functions.

Additional Information:

In-Office Requirement: The role requires in-person collaboration one day per week at our offices in Palo Alto, San Francisco, or Seattle.

Compensation and Inclusion:

The salary range for this position is $274,473—$480,328 USD, based on various factors including experience and location. The role is also eligible for equity.
