Job summary

Critical Materials Group seeks a Director for CMG Colorado to guide strategic direction, operations, and growth in a regulated defense market. The role combines technical credibility in energetic materials with strong business leadership and government contracting expertise.

The Director will lead senior teams, secure and execute DoW and related contracts, drive safety compliance, and position CMG Colorado for sustainable profitability while reporting to the Chief Science Officer.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field is required.
• Advanced degree (MS/PhD) strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the long-term strategy aligned with the CMG executive team.
• Lead business development and capture activities with DoW agencies and primes.
• Oversee RDT&E programs spanning energetic materials synthesis, formulation, scale-up, and safety testing.
• Own full P&L, budgeting, forecasting, and profitability targets.
• Ensure safety, security, and compliance with DoD explosives safety, export controls, and ITAR.
