Job summary

KBR is seeking a Director of Explosives Manufacturing to oversee the energetics plant scale up and lead the execution of large, complex defense programs in production of HMX, RDX, and other energetics. This role manages program performance across scope, schedule, cost, risk, and customer satisfaction while guiding integrated teams and ensuring regulatory alignment.

The position offers high visibility, collaboration with customers and suppliers, and a path to drive safe, compliant, high‑quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required with 15+ years in energetic explosives manufacturing facilities (construction/production)
• Experience managing large, complex defense/government programs
• Experience with budgets, schedules, and risk management
• Knowledge of defense regulations (ITAR, DFARS, FAR) and CAM/EVMS

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, execution, and delivery of complex programs from initiation to completion
• Manage scope, schedule, budget, and risk to meet contractual and financial objectives
• Serve as primary communications lead with customers and stakeholders
• Develop detailed program plans, milestones, and performance metrics
• Lead cross‑functional teams across engineering, operations, finance, and supply chain
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements
