The Director, Employer Group Distribution is responsible for leading a field-based team that sells ancillary solutions to clients of all sizes within an assigned Group Market. The Director manages business relationships with employer group clients, brokers, and consultants in the market.

The Director of Employer Group Distribution Ancillary will meet membership and growth targets by optimizing talent responsible for new sales and cross-sales. Responsibilities include:

  1. Conducting, attending, and managing local sales operations meetings to promote sales development, teamwork, market strategies, and training.
  2. Monitoring sales results, trends, and performance to ensure targets are achieved.
  3. Developing market-specific strategies to enhance pursuit tactics.
  4. Leading a team of Ancillary Sales Executives and Ancillary Small Business Representatives.
  5. Ensuring smooth transition of large clients between sales and client management teams.
  6. Overseeing timely communication, contracts, and reporting with prospects.
  7. Building and maintaining relationships with national, regional, and local firms.
  8. Contributing local market insights to the Group Growth Strategy.
  9. Providing customer, broker, and partner insights to improve sales performance and competitiveness.
  10. Collaborating with network leaders to refine network investments and team expansion.
  11. Working with various functions like Sales, Underwriting, Finance, and Marketing to meet objectives.
  12. Identifying and communicating needs for product and service improvements.
  13. Understanding market dynamics, including competition, influencers, and trends.
  14. Communicating national and local strategies, goals, and updates.
  15. Developing team skills in presentation, relationship management, analytics, and local market dynamics.
  16. Building the Humana brand across the market and developing strategic relationships to drive business.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of consultative selling experience in Medical and Specialty Sales, including large groups.
  • 4+ years leading a new business sales team targeting various employer sizes.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Proven ability to build relationships with brokers, consultants, and employer groups.
  • Deep knowledge of the health insurance industry and local market competition.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to collaborate positively.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 40%.
  • Valid State Health and Life insurance licenses.
  • Valid driver’s license and proof of vehicle insurance, as part of Humana's Driver safety program.

Pay Range

$136,400 - $185,900 per year, based on location and experience. The role may include a commission incentive plan based on performance.
