Job summary

Spencer Hospital in Spencer, IA seeks an experienced healthcare leader to direct the Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit. This full-time, salaried exempt role oversees ~60 staff and drives quality, safety, and service initiatives across acute care.

You will partner with physicians and hospital leadership to shape outcomes and lead through change, maintaining composure under pressure while fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred.
• Current RN licensure and required certifications (BLS, ACLS, TNCC, CPI, PALS, Hazmat) or ability to obtain within established timelines.
• Minimum of two years of ICU and/or Emergency Department experience in an acute care setting.
• Leadership experience with a proven ability to develop teams, build relationships, and drive positive outcomes.
• Strong communication, organizational, and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to effectively lead through change, manage competing priorities, and maintain composure in high-pressure situations.
