Ideal candidates will have 10+ years in electrical engineering, 5+ years leading engineering teams, and strong FCC/EMI/EMC experience

Qualifications

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related technical field.
  • 10+ years in electrical engineering, hardware engineering, or electrical systems development for complex embedded/electromechanical products.
  • 5+ years leading engineers, technical teams, or cross-functional hardware programs.
  • Strong foundation in PCBAs, schematic review, board bring-up, embedded electronics, processors/SoCs, power architecture, sensors, interconnects, batteries, and system integration.
  • Experience integrating processor platforms or embedded compute architectures.
  • Experience taking hardware through development, test, iteration, validation, and production release.
  • Knowledge of wireless/radio hardware including WiFi, Bluetooth, radio modules, antenna selection, signal performance, or system integration.
  • Experience supporting FCC certification, EMI/EMC testing, pre-compliance debug, grounding/shielding, or design-for-compliance.
  • Comfortable making system-level architecture decisions while reviewing designs and guiding execution.
  • Track record building teams, improving processes, and mentoring leads in fast-moving environments.
  • Background in aerospace/defense/autonomous systems/robotics or other complex hardware products.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and scale a growing electrical engineering team while building a new internal radio/wireless systems capability from the ground up.
  • Identify team gaps, shape hiring needs, and strengthen ownership, documentation, and technical decision-making.
  • Guide system-level electrical architecture across embedded hardware, including processors, compute modules, PCBAs, sensors, camera/display interfaces, interconnects, power distribution, batteries, BMS, and motor/actuation electronics.
  • Review and guide schematic design, board-level architecture, PCB bring-up, validation, signal integrity, power integrity, and production readiness.
  • Ensure hardware designs are reliable, manufacturable, testable, and able to move from prototype through production release.
  • Guide integration of wireless communication systems across complex hardware platforms, including radio module selection, antenna placement, signal performance, range, interference, and system-level reliability.
  • Own design-for-compliance efforts for connected hardware, including wireless certification support, EMI/EMC troubleshooting, pre-compliance testing, grounding/shielding considerations, and cross-functional issue resolution.
  • Drive disciplined electrical and wireless validation across lab testing, field testing, debug, root cause analysis, and design improvements.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve system-level tradeoffs and integration issues.
  • Communicate technical risks, priorities, and resource needs clearly across engineering and leadership teams.
