Job summary

Tufts University is seeking a Director for the Tufts Launchpad Vector Fund to provide leadership and management of the Fund, combining investment stewardship, portfolio development, and teaching. You will work with founders, students, faculty innovators, investors, alumni, and university leadership to advance high‑potential ventures and strengthen Tufts' innovation ecosystem.

A core part of the role is teaching, mentoring, and hands‑on engagement with students across Tufts' innovation ecosystem,

Qualifications

7+ years of relevant experience in venture capital, angel investing, venture studios, startup leadership, company building, technology commercialization, or related early‑stage environments.
Demonstrated experience evaluating and supporting early‑stage ventures and working with startup financing instruments, including SAFEs and convertible notes.
Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Lead and represent the Fund to faculty, students, leadership, alumni, investors, and ecosystem partners.
Oversee the Fund's annual investment cycle, including outreach, application intake, founder communications, screening, and committee coordination.
Support portfolio companies by maintaining engagement and connecting founders with advisors and growth opportunities.
Teach, mentor, and foster entrepreneurship across Tufts' innovation ecosystem.
