Job summary

Shennon Biotechnologies in San Francisco seeks a Head of Droplet-based Microfluidics Applications – Associate Director to lead and expand the platform across biology and engineering, reporting to the CTO.

You will manage engineering staff, drive project delivery, mentor junior engineers, and push the boundaries of droplet-based microfluidics for preclinical and clinical applications while engaging with the advisory board.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in engineering or physical science with expertise in droplet-based functional biology applications and related publications.
• Hands-on delivery of droplet-based microfluidic solutions end-to-end across biology and engineering.
• Multi-disciplinary background with experience leading teams and projects in a startup environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of the droplet-based microfluidics platform and its applications with boots-on-the-ground collaboration with junior engineers.
• Interact with biology team to identify problems addressable by the platform.
• Define projects and timelines to develop applications on the platform.
• Drive projects to deliver results within set timelines aligned with company goals.
• Mentor junior engineers and expand team capabilities.
• Promote collaboration, innovation, and scientific rigor.
