Over the past three years, we’ve seen a 70% increase in organ donation—driven by the compassion and generosity of New Yorkers.

Explore a career where your work truly matters. At LiveOnNY, you’ll grow professionally while helping others live on.

The Director, Donation Operations Education and Training provides enterprise leadership and strategic direction for LiveOnNY’s donation operations education, training, and competency framework. This role directs education and training activities as a result of collaboration with department leadership, material function leadership, and subject matter experts, ensuring alignment with donation and donor safety, regulatory compliance, workforce readiness, and donation performance outcomes for a federally designated Organ Procurement Organization (OPO). This position supports the establishment and enforcement of a prescriptive, audit-ready education and competency system aligned with CMS OPO Conditions for Coverage, OPTN policies, federal and state law, and LiveOnNY’s operational strategy.

Direct education and training strategy as a result of collaboration with department leadership, material function leadership, and subject matter experts. Translate regulatory and operational requirements into structured, measurable education and competency frameworks as directed by organizational leadership.

Direct the education and training components supporting compliance with regulatory bodies including but not limited to CMS, OPTN, NYS, FDA, OSHA, and other applicable requirements. Ensure training programs are defensible, traceable, auditable, and capable of demonstrating workforce competency during surveys, reviews, and audits.

3. Curriculum Architecture & Instructional Governance

Oversee the design and maintenance of curricula developed as directed, covering onboarding, rolespecific competency, continuing education, remediation, and leadership development. Establish instructional design standards, templates, evaluation methodologies, and documentation requirements across all learning modalities. Ensure consistent application of adult-learning theory, simulation-based education, and performance-based competency validation in accordance with approved direction.

4. Competency Frameworks & Workforce Readiness

Direct the development and governance of learning pathways and competency frameworks in collaboration with leadership and subject matter experts. Ensure competency validation is objective, repeatable, and aligned with regulatory expectations and operational requirements.

5. Measurement, Analytics & Performance Monitoring

Define metrics used to evaluate education and training effectiveness, including competency attainment and regulatory readiness indicators. Oversee evaluation methodologies and reporting that demonstrate training effectiveness and compliance support.

6. Leadership, Oversight & Team Direction

Direct, mentor, and evaluate managers and staff within Donation Operations Education and Training. Establish accountability structures, role clarity, and performance expectations across the education function. Promote a culture of continuous improvement, professional development, and regulatory adherence.

7. Learning Systems & Infrastructure

Provide senior-level oversight of the Learning Management System (LMS) and related learning technologies to ensure accuracy, reliability, and audit readiness. Approve learning technology configuration and utilization as directed in support of compliance and operational needs. Ensure training records, competency documentation, and certification evidence are complete, accurate, and readily retrievable.

8. Audit, Review & Corrective Action Support

Ensure education and training documentation is maintained in a state of continuous audit readiness. Direct education-related responses to internal and external audit requests with urgency, accuracy, and completeness. Monitor and verify completion of training-related corrective and preventive actions.
