Other Forms of Compensation: Annual Bonus incentive up to 15%

Job Summary

  • Relocation and/or Sign-On Bonus available for this position

Join us as the Director of Dining Services to lead outstanding service and memorable culinary experiences at Dallas Center-Grimes Schools in Grimes, IA. Spend 80% of your time in the field promoting the program and engaging with the community, while fostering an inclusive culture. The district serves over 3,700 students across 8 schools. You will work alongside a talented Chef and an Administrative Assistant, leading a team of 60 associates.

This role offers a Monday through Friday schedule, providing a great work-life balance. There are opportunities for career advancement within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of managers and frontline staff.
  • Implement initiatives to improve customer satisfaction and profitability.
  • Recruit, train, and develop top talent.
  • Manage the annual budget and control costs.
  • Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and sanitation standards.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, customers, and staff.
  • Market the program and communicate its story effectively.
  • Foster an inclusive and engaging workplace culture.
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support operations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Services Management, Hospitality, Culinary Arts, or Nutrition required, or equivalent experience. Alternatively, an Associate's degree plus five years of food service management experience.
  • Proven leadership skills with a focus on inclusivity and engagement.
  • Experience managing high-demand clients.
  • Knowledge of K12 food service is highly preferred.
  • Previous P&L responsibility or contract-managed services experience.
  • Proficiency in computer skills.
