Job summary

Takeda seeks a Director-level pathology leader to embed AI/ML-enabled digital pathology into nonclinical workflows. You will drive translational tissue endpoints, oversee pathology data integration, and guide governance for data quality and model performance.

You will collaborate across R&D to shape target validation, MOA insights, and study design, mentoring teams and engaging with regulatory partners.

Qualifications

• DVM (or equivalent) and Ph.D. required.
• Board certification by ACVP/ECVP/JCVP.
• Proficiency in veterinary anatomic and/or clinical pathology.
• 10+ years pharmaceutical drug development experience.
• Experience with oligonucleotides, antibodies and conjugates, small molecules is preferred.
• Strong leadership, decision-making and communication skills.
• Experience with digital pathology platforms and image analysis workflows.
• Proven mentorship and cross-functional leadership at director level.

Responsibilities

• Provide veterinary pathology leadership to embed AI/ML pathology tools.
• Lead pathology contributions to target validation and MOA understanding.
• Oversee qualification of AI/ML pathology tools for efficacy and safety.
• Direct IHC, ISH, and spatial endpoints collaboration with labs.
• Perform primary reads and peer reviews of animal tissues and summarize for reports.
• Represent Takeda in pathology meetings and cross-industry committees.
• Author regulatory documents and respond to health authorities on pathology issues.
