Job summary

The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) is seeking a Digital Asset Management Lead to guide a team responsible for preserving and providing access to over 1.5 million assets. You will design scalable, interoperable workflows and collaborate across departments to strengthen enterprise digital asset management.

Ideal candidates have an MLS/MLIS or equivalent, 8+ years in digital archives or asset management, and leadership experience.

Qualifications

• ALA-accredited MLS/MLIS or equivalent degree.
• 8+ years in digital archives, library services with archives focus, or digital asset management.
• Expert knowledge of archival standards (DACS, OAIS, METS, etc.).
• Experience with analog/digital media preservation across formats.
• Designing archival workflows including metadata management and access.
• Strong cross-team collaboration and communication.
• Experience leading and managing people.
• Ability to think strategically and drive sustainable change.
• Ability to lead multiple projects with varied stakeholders.
• US citizenship and ability to obtain Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of asset management specialists.
• Oversee digital curation, preservation, and archiving of assets.
• Lead end-to-end digital asset management workflows for access and preservation.
• Collaborate with section supervisors and Lab leadership to maximize impact.
• Support strategy execution for the Lab's communications and department.
• Report to the Multimedia Production and Operations Group supervisor.
