This remote leadership role oversees planning, development, coordination, quality assurance, and evaluation of imaging services, with a focus on echocardiography and ultrasound services. The Director ensures clinical excellence, regulatory compliance, fiscal responsibility, and strategic alignment, fostering innovation, collaboration, continuous learning, and quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic direction for diagnostic imaging services nationwide, emphasizing echocardiography excellence.
- Oversee daily operations of virtual and on-site imaging departments, ensuring resource optimization and high-quality outcomes.
- Develop and monitor KPIs, QA dashboards, clinical quality metrics, and benchmarks for performance improvement.
- Lead a standardized QA program for echocardiography, including case reviews, inter-reader variability, and peer reviews.
- Collaborate with sonographers and cardiologists to assess image quality and reporting accuracy; lead educational sessions.
- Manage a diverse team of imaging managers, sonographers, and technologists remotely.
- Coordinate with physicians, clients, IT, and QA teams to streamline workflows and elevate service quality.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards including Joint Commission, ACR, IAC, and HIPAA.
- Manage budgets, analyze performance, and implement cost-effective strategies.
- Spearhead innovation, including AI diagnostics and remote interpretation initiatives.
- Manage vendor relationships, negotiate agreements, and oversee equipment and PACS solutions.
- Implement staff conduct and safety protocols, fostering accountability and professionalism.
- Design and execute a sonographer retention program with engagement, feedback, career development, and recognition components.
- Serve as an expert advisor to leadership on imaging strategies, QA trends, and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; preferred in Radiologic Sciences, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years as a Cardiac Sonographer.
- At least 7 years in diagnostic imaging leadership, including 3+ years in a director role.
- Experience with QA programs and multi-site or remote operations.
- Proven success in operations, budget management, and clinical quality improvement.
- Credentials: Graduate from an accredited Cardiovascular Program; RDCS or RCS preferred; healthcare management certifications a plus.
