Job summary

KPMG LLP is seeking an Associate Director, Content Development, Detection Engineering & Automation to join our Enterprise Security Services organization. You will lead the end-to-end design, development, testing, deployment and tuning of detection content using CI/CD pipelines and modern tooling.

Collaborate with Threat Intelligence, SOC and Incident Response to map detections to MITRE ATT&CK, and craft high-fidelity rules, alerts, and hunting queries in Microsoft Sentinel and Azure Data

Qualifications

• Minimum eight years of recent experience in security monitoring, operations, and incident response.
• Bachelor's degree preferred; minimum high school diploma required; relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH, GIAC, or Certified XSOAR Engineer) highly preferred.
• Subject-matter-expert level admin, configuration, and integration of Security Operations tools with IT infrastructure.
• Deep familiarity with SIEM, IDS, EDR, SOAR, OpenTelemetry, scripting languages, and API usage.
• Final escalation point to manage and troubleshoot complex detection issues.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship now or in the future; no sponsorship available.

Responsibilities

• Direct the end-to-end engineering lifecycle for security detection content using CI/CD pipelines (Detection-as-Code).
• Partner with Threat Intelligence, SOC, and Incident Response to map detections to the MITRE ATT&CK framework.
• Design, write, and optimize detection rules, analytic alerts, and hunting queries using KQL in Microsoft Sentinel/Azure Data Explorer.
• Architect and develop automated incident response playbooks and custom integrations within Cortex XSOAR; manage scalable data pipelines with OpenTelemetry.
• Streamline Cyber Operations by automating repetitive tasks and enrichment to reduce MTTR.
• Uphold KPMG's respectful and courteous work environment.
