Job summary

Thrivent is seeking a Director - Design Systems, Operations, and Bank Design to lead strategic governance and scaling of Thrivent's design system across client and advisor experiences. You will mentor managers over Design Systems and Design Operations and oversee the Bank Design team to advance mobile-first capabilities.

Through AI-enabled design practices and cross-functional collaboration with Product and Engineering, you will elevate design quality, accelerate delivery, and drive business

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field.
• 12+ years in design/UX with 5-8 years in leadership roles.
• Experience evaluating AI design tools and translating to adoption.
• Proven ability to recruit, hire, and mentor design talent.
• Strong leadership and strategic communication skills.
• Ability to influence outcomes across all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Own Thrivent's enterprise design system strategy, governance, standards, tooling, and adoption roadmap.
• Establish and govern enterprise mobile design standards and align web/mobile experiences.
• Lead the Bank Design team and evolve mobile design capabilities within the system.
• Coordinate experience across client and advisor products, channels, and platforms.
• Own design operations and the design system for client and advisor experiences.
• Lead the Bank product design team and ensure alignment with business strategy.
• Champion AI integration into design workflows and build team capability.
• Frame research initiatives and guide when to execute research for strategic decisions.
