The Director of Dental Products will lead the strategy and execution of Stratasys’ 3D printing dental portfolio, focusing on outbound activities to drive business growth. This role requires strong dental market knowledge, experience with 3D printing technologies (hardware, materials, software, services), and a proven track record in product leadership.
You will define the product roadmap, conduct market research, engage with customers, and work cross-functionally to deliver innovative solutions. Success in this role requires both product and business leadership to drive growth in a complex healthcare environment.
You’ll collaborate with dental institutions, key opinion leaders, and internal teams to develop impactful applications and expand our presence in dental labs and clinics. A self-starter mindset and a strong dental network are key to succeeding in this role.
Travel required: up to 30% as needed
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Product Strategy & Roadmap: Develop and execute the overall product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the 3D printing dental product line, aligned with company objectives and market opportunities. This includes prioritizing features, defining target markets, and identifying potential partnerships.
- Lead and oversee cross-company team collaborations: R&D, NPI, Marketing, Operations, Customer Success, Application Engineers, Regional GTM to drive successful product development, launch, and adaptation.
- Oversee and support product lifecycle development: Work with R&D teams to ensure ongoing development and improvements.
- Outbound Product Activities: Lead all outbound activities, including:
- Market Research & Voice of Customer (VOC): Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and VOC activities to identify unmet customer needs, emerging trends, and market opportunities. Use this information to inform product development, including feasibility testing, clinical evaluation, and preparation of MRD and PRD. Understand competitive solutions and communicate key advantages to influence development roadmap. Implement strategies to counteract competitors and maintain market share.
Product Positioning & Messaging: Develop compelling positioning and messaging that differentiate our products and resonate with target audiences. Support marketing collateral, sales tools, and training materials.Develop and support execution of multi-year go-to-market strategies for in-development and new products, including positioning, pricing, sales enablement, and marketing campaigns. Collaborate with VP of Healthcare and regional GTM managers.Coordinate with cross-company teams—sales, marketing, product development, regulatory—to ensure cohesive go-to-market strategies.Work within targeted geographies to develop and drive innovative solutions using Stratasys equipment, solutions, and services.Analyze sales and market data to identify trends, competitor activity, and areas for improvement; recommend strategic adjustments.Sales Enablement: Provide sales teams with tools, training, and resources, including presentations, demos, and battle cards.Representation: Represent Stratasys at industry events through presentations and participation in group activities.Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, science (Life sciences preferred), or related field; MBA a plus.
- 10+ years of experience in Dental or medical device sectors; dental experience is a plus.
- 10+ years in product management with multidisciplinary systems (capital equipment, materials, accessories, services, software).
- Successful track record in developing and executing market growth strategies and launching new products.
- Experience working with international and multinational teams; startup experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of medical regulation (FDA/MDR) and experience working in regulated environments is a plus.
- Experience in international markets, especially US and Europe, is a plus.
- Experience managing international teams is a plus.
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally to identify market opportunities.
- Highly organized, results-oriented, and able to prioritize in fast-paced settings.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work at all organizational levels.
