Job summary

Atlantic Health System in Morristown, NJ seeks a Director of Decision Support & Cost Accounting to lead cost accounting, analytics strategy, and data governance across the organization. You will drive performance reporting, predictive analytics, and prescriptive insights to guide financial and operational decisions.

You will oversee finance systems, partner with IT and stakeholders, and build a high-performing analytics team focused on scaling data-driven decision making.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and ongoing management of the organization’s cost accounting methodology and processes
• Ensure accuracy, transparency, and scalability of cost allocation models to support decision-making
• Oversee periodic cost updates, variance analysis, and continuous improvement of costing accuracy
• Partner with clinical/operational, finance, and executive stakeholders to translate cost insights into actionable recommendations
• Lead centralized decision support / analytics delivering recurring reporting and ad hoc analyses
• Drive adoption and development of Power BI dashboards and self-service analytics tools
• Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders
• Establish and maintain data governance standards for reporting outputs
• Build and execute a roadmap to evolve analytics maturity (descriptive to prescriptive)
• Introduce statistical methods, forecasting models, and scenario analysis
• Partner with IT/data teams to integrate advanced analytics tools and datasets
• Promote a data-driven culture across finance and operations
• Oversee administration and optimization of financial subsidiary systems
• Ensure system governance including access controls, data integrity, and updates
• Partner with IT and vendors to maintain system performance and integrations
• Serve as the functional owner for finance systems supporting costing, analytics, and reporting
• Lead, mentor and develop a team spanning cost accounting and analytics
• Establish performance expectations and career development plans
• Foster collaboration across finance, operations, and IT
• Drive adoption of automation and best practices to increase team impact
• This role will transform decision-making by strengthening cost transparency and analytics capabilities.
