HD Supply is seeking a Director of Decision Analytics to define and execute the business unit's intelligence strategy, overseeing BI systems and optimization techniques. You will work with senior leaders to identify data-driven opportunities and lead cross-functional teams to improve operational performance.
In this role, you will manage budgets, ensure data quality, and mentor staff while leveraging analytics to drive profitability across the organization.
Job Summary Responsible for defining and executing the business unit's overall intelligence and network strategy. Oversee the development and administration of systems and tools used to store, model, and analyze key business data including but not limited to the analysis of supply chain, customer, product, and financial data. Develop actionable analytics and optimization models that will be used to identify operational and distribution improvement opportunities that will lead to increased business profitability. Work with leadership in business to educate the workforce on leveraging data to help drive overall business success.
Define and execute business intelligence and network strategy. Oversee the implementation and administration of business intelligence systems, tools, and optimization techniques. Work closely with senior business leaders and their respective field and functional units to identify and implement advanced data reporting capabilities and mechanisms. Leverage available data sources to identify key business improvement opportunities. Develop and manage the unit and project specific budgets. Maintain responsibility for the business unit data quality management initiatives. Lead direct reports and/or cross‑functional teams that include both functional and technical resources.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Industrial and Systems Engineering, or a closely related field and 8 years of work experience as a decision analyst or similar position. Stated experience must include:
5 years of experience with distribution network optimization 5 years of experience in a management/supervisory capacity involving decision analytics 5 years of experience operations research and optimization modeling experience Experience working with advanced data analytics tools and databases related to financial data, P&L statements and sales forecasts. Experience aggregating large volumes of operational, financial and customer data for analysis. Experience partnering with cross functional leaders. Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and objectionable. Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles. Typically requires overnight travel 20% to 50% of the time.
Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 9+ years of experience in a related field, including several years in a management/supervisory capacity.
