Director, Deal Management
Overview:
The NAM Deal Management team is seeking a Director, Deal Management to oversee the business development deal process, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and negotiate with internal and external partners. The ideal candidate is passionate about the customer experience, highly motivated, intellectually curious, analytical, and has an entrepreneurial mindset.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing and implementing long-term strategies to enhance profitability and competitive advantage by building tools for analysis and modeling of deal scenarios.
- Lead the deal process from a financial perspective, working with Customer Account Managers to retain or acquire new business with issuers, merchants, and key customers.
- Participate in the deal committee to establish policies and improve processes; coordinate with key stakeholders to strategize around the deal proposal process, including analyzing and implementing process improvements.
- Engage in negotiations with external customers for contracts and business terms, embodying the Lead Beyond Finance initiative, and escalate complexities as needed.
- Perform financial modeling and develop business cases for deal proposals to meet customer needs while safeguarding Mastercard's interests; collaborate with the team to suggest changes to relevant parties.
- Lead customer negotiations and presentations, providing sound recommendations to finalize agreements and highlighting potential concerns in complex proposals.
- Contribute to the development and execution of strategic initiatives aimed at profitability and competitive positioning aligned with corporate objectives.
- Demonstrate thought leadership in the payments industry, offering both executive and operational insights in complex deal scenarios.

- Extensive experience in financial modeling and business case development, with an ability to identify risks and issues.
