Job summary

PsiQuantum is building the first useful quantum computers with silicon photonics. The Director, Platform & System will own the end-to-end delivery of an integrated photonic engine and partner-built systems, defining form factor, power, cooling, and orchestration interfaces for manufacturability and reliability.

The role leads collaboration with OEM, ODM, joint ventures and strategic partners to ensure a scalable, production-ready system from spec through production and deployment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years hardware systems engineering experience.
• Directed system architecture for rack-mounted datacenter products.
• Familiar with datacenter constraints: rack unit budgets, airflow, power, density, serviceability, environmental standards.
• Led a system from specification through prototype to production with partners.
• Proficient in specifying engineering requirements that teams can build against.

Responsibilities

• Own the system requirements spec: radix, form factor, rack height, connector type, faceplate, power, thermal, monitoring, redundancy.
• Define the delivery strategy: what we build, what partners build, how the product comes together.
• Own the thermal and power budget as a constraint on the architecture.
• Define the control and management interface strategy for the customer’s orchestration layer.
• Identify and collaborate with OEM/ODM/JV/strategic partners across the system.
• Arbitrate cross-subsystem trades to avoid local optimizations harming the system.
• Work with partners, manufacturing and test on DFM and test access from the start.
