Job summary

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle seeks an Associate Director, Data and Operations for Infectious Disease Clinical Trials to lead data management and trial operations across HIV vaccine and infectious disease studies. You will drive strategy, budget oversight, vendor management, and cross‑functional collaboration with SCHARP and BB&E programs.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or Master’s degree in a field related to clinical research (data management, biostatistics, epidemiology, etc.).
• Minimum eight years of relevant experience with progressive responsibilities and at least five years in management.
• Ability to travel in US and internationally (approx. two trips per year).
• Hands-on clinical data management experience across the full study lifecycle, including EDC, DMPs and data standards.
• Experience selecting, contracting, and managing CROs and external vendors and overseeing budgets.

Responsibilities

• Provide data and operations leadership for SDMC research and grants, ensuring data capture and management are appropriate for studies.
• Define data and operations services and monitor activities to align with research goals; solicit external partners as needed.
• Serve on the Vaccine Leadership Team to keep PIs up to date and collect feedback.
• Establish relationships with grant stakeholders and coordinate activities with SCHARP and partner centers.
• Engage faculty and maintain communication about resources and program progress with PIs.
