Director, Data Scientist & Data Operations

This position may be office-based (hybrid) in Nutley, NJ, or remote.

Responsibilities
  1. Data Analysis for Strategic Insights: Analyze complex datasets to extract actionable insights, identify key trends, and provide data-driven recommendations supporting strategic decisions.
  2. Data Storage & Processing: Design, manage, and optimize data storage solutions; build and automate data pipelines for efficient data processing.
  3. AI-Driven Data Preparation: Leverage AI and machine learning algorithms for automated data preparation, transforming raw data into high-quality insights, and create dynamic visualizations via Power BI.
  4. Natural Language Processing (NLP) & Large Language Models (LLM): Apply NLP techniques and LLMs to analyze unstructured data, generate infographics and narratives, and uncover hidden patterns.
  5. Pipeline Orchestration & Automation: Automate and orchestrate data pipelines using tools like Apache Airflow, Prefect, and Dagster.
  6. Data Quality & Consistency: Establish validation rules to ensure data integrity and high quality throughout the data lifecycle.
  7. Incremental Data Loads: Implement strategies for efficient data refresh cycles.
  8. Event-Driven Automation: Enable real-time updates for dashboards through event-driven automation.
  9. Low-Latency Data Processing: Ensure performance for real-time insights.
  10. Dashboard Optimization: Enhance Power BI dashboard responsiveness using parameterized queries and other techniques.
  11. Data Communication & Visualization: Present complex findings to non-technical stakeholders via reports and interactive dashboards.
  12. Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA): Conduct thorough EDA to assess data quality and uncover insights.
  13. Feature Engineering: Develop features from raw data to improve model performance.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree with 7+ years of related experience.
  • Deep knowledge of statistical analysis, machine learning algorithms, and data modeling.
  • Proficiency in Python or R, with experience in libraries like pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, matplotlib).
  • Familiarity with big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
Additional Information
