J ob Description:

The Director, Data Management will lead DTN’s enterprise-wide Master Data Management (MDM) and Data Governance strategy, building a unified, trusted data foundation that enables confident decision-making across Commercial (Sales, Marketing, Customer Success) and Financial (FP&A) domains. Reporting to the Head of Commercial Operations, this leader will partner cross-functionally to centralize, standardize, and govern critical business data, eliminating silos and ensuring accuracy, compliance, and scalability. This role is both strategic and hands-on, overseeing governance frameworks, data quality programs, technology selection, and cross-functional alignment while building a high-performing data management function.

What You Will Do:

Enterprise MDM & Data Strategy

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Master Data Management strategy to unify customer, account, product, and financial data across the organization.
  • Define data standards, ownership, and stewardship models to ensure a single source of truth for critical business data.
  • Establish and lead a Data Governance Council to align stakeholders on policies, definitions, and priorities.

Governance Framework & Compliance

  • Create and enforce enterprise-wide policies for data acquisition, quality, access, security, privacy, and lifecycle management.
  • Partner with Legal, Security, and IT to ensure compliance with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and internal security protocols.
  • Define clear accountability for data owners and stewards across all domains.

Data Quality & Transparency

  • Implement monitoring systems to track and improve data accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
  • Lead cleansing, enrichment, and standardization efforts with a focus on preventing errors at the source.

Technology Evaluation & Integration

  • Evaluate, select, and implement MDM, data cataloging, and integration tools that support scalability and operational needs.
  • Collaborate with IT and Data Engineering to design architectures for synchronized, high-quality data flows across CRM, ERP, and other core systems.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Commercial Operations, Finance, Sales, Marketing, Product, and Customer Success to embed governance into operational workflows.
  • Align go-to-market and financial data processes to ensure consistency in forecasting, reporting, and decision-making.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Build and scale a data governance team, including data stewards, analysts, and technical specialists as needed.
  • Foster a culture of data accountability, literacy, and continuous improvement through training, enablement, and change management.

What You Will Bring:

  • 10+ years of experience in data governance, master data management, or related data strategy roles, ideally within complex, multi-domain organizations.
  • Proven track record implementing enterprise-wide MDM strategies and governance frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of Commercial and Financial data domains, including CRM, ERP, marketing automation, and FP&A systems.
  • Experience with MDM and governance platforms (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, Talend, Microsoft Purview) and integration/ETL tools.
  • Working knowledge of data architecture, modeling, and SQL; familiarity with metadata and data lineage best practices.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and change management skills, with the ability to influence across all levels of the business.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive Compensation: Competitive base salary with uncapped commission potential, a robust benefits package, and 6% 401(k) matching.
  • Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, dental, and vision coverage, plus an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) to support mental, emotional, and financial well-being.
  • Flexibility: Remote-first work environment with unlimited paid time off (PTO).
  • Learning & Development: Access to over 13,000 professional development courses.
  • Impactful Work: Join a collaborative team delivering mission-critical solutions to key global sectors.
