Job Description

Job Summary

The Director of Data Governance will develop and implement the enterprise data governance strategy and roadmap aligned with the company's vision. This role is part of the Enterprise Information Management (EIM) organization and reports directly to the VP of Enterprise Data Platform and Data Governance.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Lead cross-functional teams in large-scale data governance initiatives
• Define and implement the target operating model for data governance following industry best practices
• Design and establish data governance structures, including committees and roles such as data owners and stewards
• Develop and enforce enterprise data standards, policies, and guidelines covering master data, metadata, data quality, lineage, etc.
• Manage data governance tools and vendor relationships
• Establish metrics and KPIs; communicate the value of data governance to stakeholders
• Build support across business and IT; serve as a liaison
• Collaborate to resolve data quality issues and ensure adherence to standards
• Apply healthcare industry knowledge to ensure compliance and data integrity
• Utilize Azure and Databricks tools to enhance data management and analytics
• Guide on healthcare-specific data governance standards, including patient privacy and regulations
• Lead data quality initiatives and support healthcare data interoperability
• Stay informed on industry trends and best practices

Job Qualifications

Required Education

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, data analytics, IT, or related field

Required Experience

• 10+ years in data governance roles

Preferred Education

• Master's degree or higher

Preferred Experience

• Over 12 years of management experience with strategic planning
• Deep healthcare industry expertise
• Proven change management skills and stakeholder engagement
• Strong leadership and project delivery skills
• Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
• Extensive data management and analytics experience
• Experience with Data Lake is a plus
