The Role

The Director, Data and AI Product Delivery is responsible for leading the delivery of high-impact data and AI products across the enterprise. This role drives the productization of data assets, machine learning solutions, and decision intelligence capabilities that fuel business growth and operational efficiency. The role blends strategy, delivery oversight, technical acumen, and cross-functional leadership to transform data into scalable, valuable, and trusted products.

Your Impact

• Strategic Leadership: Ensure delivery practices reflect best-in-class standards for data quality, governance, and cloud-native scalability. Develop and implement a data and AI product delivery strategy aligned with organizational goals. Identify and prioritize data and AI product delivery projects and initiatives. Ensure adherence to data governance policies and standards. Lead and motivate a team of data professionals. Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Data Governance and Management: Champion data governance principles and best practices. Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and completeness. Develop and maintain data documentation and metadata. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in data delivery.
• Team Management and Development: Recruit, train, and mentor data delivery team members. Provide performance feedback and coaching. Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
• Communication and Collaboration: Communicate project status and updates to stakeholders. Collaborate with other departments and teams to ensure data needs are met. Represent the data delivery function at meetings and presentations.
• Product Delivery and Execution: Oversee the end-to-end data and AI product delivery lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment. Manage product timelines, budgets, and resources effectively. Identify and mitigate risks and issues that may impact product delivery. Ensure that data and AI products are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Implement and monitor data quality processes and metrics.
• AI and Innovation: Support the operationalization of machine learning solutions, including model deployment, monitoring, and integration with business workflows. Collaborate with data science teams to align AI efforts with product delivery timelines and stakeholder expectations. Promote scalable, explainable, and governed use of AI within product delivery practices.
• Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of product managers, project leads, and delivery analysts. Foster a high-performance, collaborative environment focused on agility, innovation, and continuous improvement. Guide teams in applying agile delivery methods, balancing structure with flexibility.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with business functions (e.g., e-commerce, operations, finance, marketing) to understand needs and translate them into product outcomes. Collaborate with governance, architecture, and engineering teams to ensure solutions are compliant, scalable, and aligned with enterprise standards. Communicate product goals, progress, and impact to executive and stakeholder audiences.
  
  

Who You Are

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred, ideally in Business, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 10 to 15 years of experience in product or program delivery for data, analytics, or AI initiatives including large-scale complex projects OR equivalent management experience.
• Experience leading complex cross-functional data projects with measurable business impact.
• Familiarity with modern data architecture, cloud platforms (preferably AWS), and ML lifecycle practices.
• Experience working in or supporting retail, consumer goods, or digital businesses is preferred.
• Extensive experience of operating product management methodologies, including detailed governance, risk management and associated reporting.
• Strong experience in managing complex projects and programs simultaneously across a global team.
• Experience of working on international projects / projects with international / territory-specific considerations in a project management capacity.
• A track record of delivering international market entry projects across multiple geographies and business models advantageous but not a must.
• Strong knowledge of data product management and delivery practices.
• Familiarity with machine learning enablement, data quality, governance, and compliance.
• Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and coordinate across teams and timelines.
• Enjoys working under pressure in a fast-paced and challenging environment.

The salary range posted reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this role in our Goleta, CA location. Individual pay will be determined by location and additional factors, including job related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
