Overview:

A leading international bank located in Midtown Manhattan is seeking to hire a Director, Credit Officer - Latin America (LATAM). This role will focus on Latin American transactions across sectors including infrastructure, natural resources, energy, financial institutions, and corporate lending, with a growing emphasis on sustainable finance initiatives throughout the region

Key Responsibilities:

• Review & Challenge: Evaluate credit applications, including lending transactions and associated financial products (e.g., derivatives, trade finance).
• Executive Summaries: Prepare and present written credit analyses, risk assessments, and recommendations to Credit Department leadership.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with front office teams to support due diligence, improve deal structures, and highlight key risk considerations before formal submission.
• Transaction Oversight: Assess credit risk across areas such as counterparty analysis, financial projections, facility structures, terms, US regulatory classification, country risk, and profitability.
• Credit Monitoring: Oversee the credit quality of active portfolios, including watchlists and problem assets, and contribute to ongoing portfolio reviews.
• Problem Credit Management: Monitor classified and high-risk loans; prepare memoranda and reporting for senior management.
