Compensation: $100,000 - $121,000 annually
Schedule: Varies between 7am-3:30pm and 8:30am-5pm Monday to Friday, with occasional evening or weekend hours.
Location: This position is 100% in-person, located at 2650 Senter Road, San Jose, CA 95111. Some presence may be required at our other location at 1560 Berger Drive.
One of the first urban Conservation Corps in the country, the San Jose Conservation Corps + Charter School (SJCC+CS) was founded in 1987 to empower young adults aged 18 to 27 ("Corpsmembers") to upskill themselves and advance their career in conservation and green spaces. Today, SJCC+CS continues to operate its 1-year-long paid workforce development program, while also operating a WASC-accredited charter high school, allowing those who have aged out of the traditional education system to earn their high school diploma.

SJCC+CS is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Corpsmember Support Services Director to oversee our Corpsmember Support Services department. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all Corpsmembers meet with and have access to Support Services in order to proactively address any obstacles that could impede their progress in the program and receive the mental and behavioral health support they need. In order to accomplish this, the Director will supervise a team of Success Navigators, and MSW interns, and establish and maintain internal and external partnerships. Strong leadership skills and commitment to trauma-informed care and harm reduction practices will be essential in achieving the program's goals and promoting positive outcomes. This position will collaborate with the Job Training and Charter School staff to ensure Corpsmembers receive the help and resources they need. In addition, this position will work to establish strong external partnerships and develop community resources that support the personal growth and development of the young people we serve.
Position may require prolonged sitting, standing, walking, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, squatting and stooping in the performance of daily activities. The position also requires grasping, repetitive hand movement and fine coordination in using a computer keyboard. The position may require the incumbent to occasionally lift up to 25lbs. Additionally, the position requires far and near vision when reading and using a computer. Acute hearing is required when providing phone and personal service. The nature of the work may require the incumbent to work evenings, weekends and holidays. The San Jose Conservation Corps + Charter School is an “At-Will” employer. This means that employment with SJCC+CS is voluntarily entered into and staff members are free to resign at any time. Similarly, SJCC+CS may terminate the employment relationship at any time, with or without cause or prior notice, as it deems appropriate. This at-will employment relationship can be changed only in a written agreement signed by the staff member and the CEO of SJCC+CS.
All new hires will be required to provide proof of vaccination absent an approved medical or religious exemption prior to their start date. If a new hire is in the process of being vaccinated, their start date may be adjusted to a future date after they have been vaccinated. Fully vaccinated means it has been at least two weeks since the person has completed the entire recommended initial series of a COVID-19 vaccine.
The incumbent of this position will be required to drive for work in either a company or personal vehicle, and must submit a copy of their DMV driver’s record as a condition of hire. The candidate also must possess and continue to maintain a valid California Class C driver’s license and a clean driving record acceptable to the organization’s auto insurance company.
Federal law requires all employees to provide verification of their eligibility to work in the United States. State law requires all employees working with youth to provide medical verification of negative tuberculosis test results within the last year. Employees will also be required to submit proof of COVID-19 vaccination.
If the position is offered and accepted, candidates will be required to undergo Live Scan Fingerprinting as well as a background check, which includes a state and federal criminal history record check.
