Job summary

Voyant Beauty is seeking a Director of Corporate Project Engineering to lead capital initiatives across our operations and supply chain. You will drive the investment strategy, partner with site leaders, and ensure projects meet safety, quality, and cost objectives while enabling growth.

You will collaborate with Operations, R&D, Quality, Sourcing, Finance, and Commercial teams to prioritize investments and standardize engineering practices across sites.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering is required.
  • 10+ years of progressive engineering leadership in manufacturing.
  • 4-6 years leading large-scale capital projects across multiple sites.
  • 4-6 years in contract manufacturing, beauty or related sectors preferred.
  • 4-6 years managing multi-million-dollar capital budgets.
  • 4-6 years leading automation and manufacturing technology implementations.

A Brief Overview

The Director, Corporate Project Engineering provides strategic and tactical leadership for capital engineering projects across Voyant Beauty's operations and supply chain network. Working closely with the Director Engineering and each of the site leaders, this role is responsible for developing and executing the Company's capital investment strategy to improve safety, quality, operational capacity and efficiency, automation, and cost performance while supporting business growth and customer commitments. Working closely with Operations, Supply Chain, R&D, Quality, Sourcing and Procurement, Commercial, Finance, and Plant Engineering teams, the Director leads the planning, prioritization, and execution of complex capital projects from concept through startup. This position establishes engineering standards, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and ensures projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget and scope, and in compliance with all regulatory requirements. The role requires technical expertise, project management skills, and the ability to work effectively in a decentralized, matrixed environment.

What you will do
  • Develop and execute the Company's multi-site capital project strategy aligned with business priorities, growth objectives, and operation and supply chain network needs via a matrix reporting organization structure. Partner with engineering, quality, safety, environmental and procurement to align project engineering initiatives with business goals. Serve as a liaison between project engineering and executive leadership to translate technical needs into strategic priorities. Evaluate and implement cost-saving and efficiency improvements.
  • Lead planning, budgeting, design, procurement, construction, installation, commissioning, and startup of capital projects across multiple manufacturing facilities working within a matrix reporting organization structure.
  • Partner with Corporate Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, Commercial, R&D, and Finance to identify and prioritize capital investments that improve safety, quality, capacity, productivity, and cost performance.
  • Standardize project engineering processes, equipment specifications, project management methodologies, and best practices across the manufacturing network.
  • In partnership with Director Engineering and site leaders, lead automation, equipment modernization, facility expansion, and manufacturing technology initiatives to improve operational performance.
  • Manage external engineering firms, contractors, equipment suppliers, and construction partners to ensure successful project execution.
  • In partnership with Director Engineering and site leaders, oversee capital budgets, project timelines, resource allocation, and project risks while providing regular updates to executive leadership.
  • In partnership with Director Engineering and site leaders, develop and mentor engineering talent while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to travel up to 40–50% to manufacturing facilities.
  • Ability to work in manufacturing environments including exposure to moving equipment, noise, and varying temperatures.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Ability to walk manufacturing floors for extended periods.
  • Ability to occasionally climb stairs, ladders, and access elevated platforms.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Working Conditions -This position operates in both office and manufacturing environments. Frequent travel is required to support capital projects across multiple manufacturing locations. The incumbent must be able to work effectively in fast-paced manufacturing environments while managing multiple priorities and meeting project deadlines.
Education Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related engineering discipline (Required) or
  • Master's Degree (Preferred)
Experience Qualifications
  • 10+ years of progressive engineering leadership experience within manufacturing. (Required)
  • 4-6 years leading large-scale capital projects across multiple manufacturing sites. (Preferred)
  • 4-6 years within contract manufacturing, consumer packaged goods (CPG), beauty, personal care, cosmetics, pharmaceutical, food, or chemical manufacturing strongly (Preferred)
  • 4-6 years proven experience managing multi-million-dollar capital budgets and complex project portfolios. (Preferred)
  • 4-6 years leading automation and manufacturing technology implementations (Preferred)
Skills and Abilities
  • Capital project management expertise from concept through startup. (High proficiency)
  • Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment design, utilities, facility infrastructure, and process improvement. (High proficiency)
